Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Westfield Mall

(MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Season 1, Episode 6) Have you ever wanted to do parkour inside a mall and have free reign without fear of getting into trouble? Well for the final episode of season 1 of MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge, the top six contenders get to face off for the ultimate champion of season 1 to be crowned.

The final episode consists of all five winners of each episode and Tim “Livewire” Shieff. How did he get in? Because in the four episodes he appeared in, he made it to the finals in each one.

Like with the other episodes, the groups are first divided into teams to make a video. The teams are:

Team 1: Michael Turner, Ben Jenkin, Ryan Doyle
Team 2: Pip Andersen, Tim Shieff, Daniel Ilabaca

And the winner is…

Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Hollyridge Castle

(MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Season 1, Episode 4) As we get to episode 4, we notice an unexplained format change where the teams are now three each instead of four. This is likely due to injuries. For this episode, MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge goes to Hollyridge Castle, which is also known as Hollywood Castle. It’s a privately owned castle that is rented out for filming, vacations, etc.. How much, you ask? How about $30,000 a month? The castle was built in 1974.

Like with the last episode, the final individual challenge is based on skills versus time and this one was an easy decision as you see. But we’ve jumped ahead in time. Let’s back it up. First is the video challenge. Here are the two teams of three:

Team 1: Ryan Doyle, Pip Andersen, Michael Turner
Team 2: Tim Shieff, David Ilabaca, Oleg Vorslav

One of the teams just kills it on the video – the best video so far in the Ultimate Parkour Challenge series. Overall this is another great episode of Ultimate Parkour Challenge…

Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Melody Ranch

(MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Season 1, Episode 3) This third episode of the Ultimate Parkour Challenge took place at Melody Ranch. Now virtually everyone has heard of the Queen Mary and Venice Beach, but not as many people may know about the Melody Ranch. Melody Ranch is a motion picture studio where western films are made. It opened in 1915 and hundreds of films used the location up until 1952 when the property was sold to Gene Autry.

Melody Ranch is an excellent spot for an “old western parkour challenge” and that’s exactly what we get with Episode 3 of MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge.

For this challenge the teams are as follows:

Team 1: Michael Turner, Ben Jenkin, King David, Tim Shieff
Team 2: Pip Anderson, Daniel Ilabaca, Ryan Doyle, Daniel Arroyo

Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Venice Beach

(MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Season 1, Episode 2) For episode #2 of MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge, the competition took place at Venice Beach. If you haven’t seen the Queen Mary Parkour episode, be sure to watch it first.

For the Venice Beach Parkour challenge the teams are as follows:

Team 1: King David, Daniel Ilabaca, Oleg Vorslav, Ben Jenkin
Team 2: Daniel Arroyo, Ryan Doyle, Michael Turner, Tim Shieff

Like with the Queen Mary shoot, the teams have to first make a parkour video using their surrounds. For Team 1, the video is titled “Elements of Parkour” and for Team 2, “Flip for Food”.

On a personal note, I thought the videos in the first episode were a lot more creative, fun, and better executed than this episode.

Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Queen Mary

(MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge – Season 1, Episode 1) The first episode of the Ultimate Parkour Challenge took place on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. For many, doing parkour on the Queen Mary was just an unattainable dream due to strict rules and places on the ship that are off limits to the public. However, the stars of this first episode of MTV’s Ultimate Parkour Challenge were give free reign of the ship. The episode starts with two teams of names you’ve likely heard of:

Team 1: Daniel Arroyo, Tim “Livewire” Shieff, Ben “Jenx” Jenkin, Pip Andersen

Team 2: Michael Turner, Oleg Vorslav, King David, Ryan Doyle

The show defines parkour as

“A form of movement using one’s body to go over, under, or through an environment with skill and efficiency.”
